Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy describes how URBAN STUDIO ("we", "us", or "the Platform") collects, uses, and protects your personal information when you use our services. We are committed to data minimization — collecting only what is necessary to operate the petition and verification process.

2. Information We Collect

We collect the following categories of information:

  • Account information: email address, password (stored as a secure hash), display name, and optional social handles (Twitter/X, Telegram, Instagram, Discord) you choose to add.
  • Channel submissions: YouTube channel URLs, screenshots, video links, and any evidence you voluntarily submit for verification.
  • Petition signatures: the timestamp at which you sign the petition and your account identifier, joined to your display name on the public counter.
  • Usage data: minimal request logs (IP address, user agent, timestamp) for security and abuse prevention.

We deliberately do not require Google account verification at registration. You may register with email/password or via X/Twitter OAuth.

3. How We Use Your Information

We use your information to:

  • Operate your account and authenticate sessions;
  • Verify channel ownership and the legitimacy of submitted cases;
  • Display your display name on the public petition signature list (if you sign);
  • Publish verified cases on official URBAN STUDIO channels (only with materials you submit, only after manual review);
  • Communicate critical updates about the initiative;
  • Detect and prevent abuse, fraud, and misuse of the Platform.

4. Cookies & Local Storage

We use a small number of essential cookies to maintain your session and remember basic preferences. We do not use third-party advertising cookies or analytics that profile users across the web. See our Cookie Policy for details.

5. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

  • With service providers strictly necessary to operate the Platform (e.g. hosting);
  • When required by law, in response to a valid legal request;
  • With your explicit consent (e.g. you submit a verified case and we publish it as part of the public list).

6. Data Retention

We retain account and submission data for as long as your account is active. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by contacting us at support@demonetization.org. Some records (e.g. petition signatures already submitted in formal communication to YouTube or regulators) may be retained as legitimate historical record.

7. Your Rights (EU/EEA Residents)

If you are in the EU or EEA, you have the following rights under GDPR:

  • Right to access the personal data we hold about you;
  • Right to rectification of inaccurate data;
  • Right to erasure ("right to be forgotten") subject to legitimate retention exceptions;
  • Right to data portability;
  • Right to object to processing;
  • Right to lodge a complaint with your supervisory authority.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational safeguards to protect your information. Passwords are stored as cryptographic hashes; sensitive submissions are accessible only to authorized URBAN STUDIO reviewers.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced on the Platform and to registered users via email.
